I have been a dental hygienist since 1982. When I was growing up, our family dentist was a nice man, but he didn’t give anesthetic for any dental work. My appointments caused me a lot of anxiety and pain. I told myself I would never work at a dental office, but that is where my path led me. My childhood dental experience made me a better hygienist. I love people and I love taking care of people. My goal is to make my patients appointments, comfortable, educational and enjoyable while meeting their needs and addressing their concerns.

I’ve been a dental assistant since 2005. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dr. Duffner as his chairside assistant for the past 12 years. I love the rewards of dentistry because we help so many people with their dental care. From educating patients in their oral health, to giving the patients back their confidence in their smile. It brings me so much joy to see a patient walk into our office smiling with confidence and trust in our team. They know they are in good hands at Park Avenue Dental Care.

I’ve been a resident of Homewood for many years and feel that this practice is such an asset to Homewood. When asked to do the gardening and then to work for the front desk almost 2 years ago, I agreed. It has definitely been something new to me. I’ve truly enjoyed working with the team and the patients. Before this I had done home daycare. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, card making, volleyball, gardening, and games.

I have been working part time with Park Avenue Dental Care since I graduated from Prairie State College in 2007. Every patient receives the same care we would provide to our own family, which is one of the many reasons I enjoy working with such a great group of people. My patients have become very important to me and I strive to provide them with the best possible care. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, weekends away in Michigan, reading, and learning about photography.
